Background Information and Why You Should Join

First of all, I know that this forum looks bad. Maybe you can help me fix it up, because I'm bad with the fancy decorations. Anyway, the point is this:

'護廷十三隊, Gotei 13: Free Yourself' is a Bleach RPG. WAIT. Don't hit the 'Back' button, yet. Just give me a few minutes to convince you as to why this RPG is what you're looking for. This RPG is right for you if:


1. You love Bleach.

2. You want to role-play, completely 'in character' (with the exception of Rukongai... I'll explain later).

3. You want the whole 'shinigami' experience. No, not just mindlessly raising your stats, but realistically eating food. Filling out reports. Being assigned to a mission for a realistic 3 or 4 days. Buying things. Befrinding others. Addressing other characters, in character, as your (or a Bleach) character.

4. You are sick and stressed of the real world. You have work, school, or nothing at all that stresses you out. You need an output to all this where you are who you want to be at a universe far away from this one. You want to be, say, an awesome shinigami in Soul Society who throws his/her stress away by bashing countless hollows.

If you have answered 'yes' to most of these, especially 4, then you have come to the right place. I can grant you this 'other' world. In fact, you're here.

In this bleach RPG, you can choose to be a character or an original character. No, you won't fill out a page-long form about your zanpakuto skills and your mysterious, Japanese past. Why? Because I don't think you would walk up to a person and give them your life's autobiography. You can fill out a minor profile, but that's about it. Have you noticed, yet? The point of this RPG is that you are in a reality different from your reality. This is a 'real' world, where everything is as it would happen in our world. Whether you get promoted, befriend others, get stronger, or wipe out hollows is entirely up to your decisions. For example, I don't think you will say 'That one Bleach episode was awesome!' at one point, when you're, say, descending the staiways of a division building. You probably will say, "My apologies, Captain Aizen! I didn't see you there!" or "Oh, Rei, it's just you. You know, I'm late for a lieutenant's meeting."

In this RPG, there won't be a complicated points system where you battle it out with your buddies using a crazy procedure. There are simple points systems, but they are realistic: you have stats, you can eat and drink, you will get paid monthly for your shinigami duties, and you will certainly be able to train and fight (but with VERY simple means). Let me give you more examples of realism in this role-play. If you decide to train your Intelligence, for example, you simply need to go the Academy. You will have to write a brief 'report' about it after, or inform your superiors about it to actually get your Intelligence point. Which superiors, you ask? I have no idea. Your captain decides that. Maybe your captain will put your lieutenant in charge of the papers. Maybe he'll distribute the work evenly in the seats. All that will be your captain's decision (or who knows? Someone else's decision), as that CHARACTER, and as discussed for approval in the monthly Captains' Meetings.

Look: This game can be fun for you. Like I said, this world will simply be another 'reality'. You can eat, drink, and you will probably get yelled at by your superiors for slacking on your work or doing something wrong during a mission. Or perhaps it will be you who yells at a subordinate. All this, you will experience, IN CHARACTER, as your (or a Bleach) character. You must completely be in character. I know I said this twice, but I have to make it clear. All I ask of you to make this role-play entertaining for everyone else and you is that you stay IN CHARACTER. Only then will you have the full, realistic experience, where you may get married, executed, and whatever that is possible to realisticallly do, should Soul Society be REAL.

Some people are looking for an output for their reality, as I have already mentioned. This is another reality (I know I've said this, like 4 times already). However, there won't be a page-long fanfic describing where you are, and neither will there be nothing at all where you make up a fanfic-like story that no one cares about. You will simply state what you want to say and very minor actions, but the point is that, yes, this is a very 'real' world. Just keep in mind that you're also an awesome, butt-kicking shinigami!

Whether you're a 12-year-old child, a 40-year-old otaku, or a 17-year-old girl stressed with teenage drama, this can be your alternate reality. I'm not saying that you won't have 'reports' to fill out and that you won't have work that you, as a shinigami, must do. But these will be SIMPLE to do. They will be 'happy', non-troublesome 'stress' to add to your life. I mean, I have always wanted to do my math homework, knowing that after, I will have to fill out a fun report for Hitsugaya, requesting security on a certain gate. Guys, let's be serious: Everybody has wanted a 'double-life', like Ichigo has, at some point in their lives. And I can give you that, at a very realistic scale.

Still not convinced whether or not you should go through the whole sign-up procedure, just to join this RPG? Let me give you the simple, one paragraph background story.


You're outside. You're heading home from school, work, or maybe a convenience store. But then - whoops! - you get hit by a truck. You slip into a deep, vegetable-man coma, and you're more or less dead.

You gladly enter the Demon Arts Institute in Soul Soceity and become a shinigami with a high rank position in Gotei 13. Hurray!

But then your mortal body wakes up. You are back to your everyday life, as you have now. Only, you're also a powerful shinigami in Gotei 13. Congratulations, you: Soul Society's newest substitute shinigami! Let's face it: Even Ichigo didn't earn a seat in the Gotei 13.
